Our Recap of SC24

Posted on November 25, 2024

While Supercomputing reportedly set an attendance record last week with more than 17,000 people on hand, this year’s event was devoid of the big product launches that usually are announced at the industry’s biggest event of the year.

As SC24 got underway, perhaps the biggest news (although not unexpected as it is usually announced at this time each year) was the release of the new TOP500 list.  Debuting at No. 1 on the list is the new El Capitan system at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. The system has an HPL score of 1.742 EFlop/s.

For us at Advanced Clustering Technologies, our time in Atlanta was devoted to showcasing our latest HPC products and services.

We exhibited features of ClusterVisor, the cluster management software solution. To learn more about ClusterVisor, and to schedule a demo, visit our website.

We also highlighted the turn key HPC hardware systems we have been building for 20+ years.

We also featured LogVisor AI, our syslog file analysis tool.

While at SC24 in Atlanta, Advanced Clustering was honored by ThinkparQ with the BeeXtraordinary Award for 2024. Read all about it on our blog.

For our booth swag this year, we created laptop stickers (see image, below) featuring some of our brand logos including those for ClusterVisor and LogVisorAI, as well as humorous statements that only true Linux aficionados would appreciate. We are told that the most popular of these stickers was the depiction of Tux, the penguin who serves as the official brand character of the Linux kernel, with the words “May the Source be with you.” It appears that any time you combine Linux with the Star Wars universe, merriment ensues.
