Pinnacle Flex now shipping

We are pleased to announce that we are now shipping our new Pinnacle Flex compute node solution, which allows for the inclusion of a Xeon Phi, GPU, high-wattage processors or multiple hard drive configurations in a high-density environment.

As with our earlier Pinnacle models, four standard dual-processor compute notes can fit into 2U of space, and each tool-less node operates independently with no impact on other nodes. This new version also offers a two-slot-high node to allow users to incorporate options, as listed above, that are not found in most high-density formats.

Xeon Phi coprocessor available next week

Intel's new Xeon Phi 5110P, a passively cooled version of the company's first MIC (many-integrated-core) product, is scheduled to begin shipping on January 28. This coprocessor contains 60 cores at 1.05GHz with a peak memory bandwidth of 320GB/s, resulting in a double-precision floating point performance of just over one teraflop.

The tech team at Advanced Clustering has already completed some preliminary testing of this product in preparation to include them in our new Pinnacle Flex compute nodes as well as other high performance server configurations.

Demand will be high for this product, so we're expecting limited quantities for the first few weeks. If you're interested in purchasing systems built around the Xeon Phi, please email us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it  so that we can get your order in the queue as soon as possible.

The recommended customer price for this product is $2,649. For more information about the Intel Xeon Phi 5110P, please visit www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/processors/xeon/xeon-phi-detail.html.

The next version of the Xeon Phi, the 3100-series actively cooled coprocessor that is designed for highly parallel, compute-bound workloads, will be available by the end of June.

New AMD 6300-series Opteron processors offer high performance, more cores

We now offer several configurations that incorporate AMD's new 6300-series Opteron processors, which provide 24% higher overall performance and 40% better performance-per-watt than AMD's previous-generation 6200-series processors.

These new processors, the next generation of AMD's "Piledriver" core architecture, offer up to 16 cores; speeds range from a maximum of 2.8GHz for the 16-core processor up to 3.2GHz for the 8-core variety.

Advanced Clustering/Panasas webinars offer discussion of high-volume storage options

Are you interested in high performance storage, but aren't sure what is involved or what your options are? We can help.

A feature of our partnership with Panasas, a leader in high performance storage, is our ability to connect you with a Panasas representative via an online web presentation, where you will have the opportunity to ask questions and discuss concerns with both companies. These webinars are offered on an individual basis so that we can address your needs directly.

Panasas' ActiveStor systems work in tandem with our clusters to deliver fast, parallel file systems from a few terabytes well into the petabytes. Storage I/O can often be a cluster bottleneck, and Panasas' solutions offer a way to overcome this issue.

If you'd like to schedule a webinar with us and Panasas, please email us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . You can also find more information about Panasas' storage options at www.panasas.com.
