Auto Research Center

Auto Research Center is a specialized research facility that offers scale model development, vehicle aerodynamics and vehicle dynamics capabilities and expertise, computer aided engineering software, vehicle dynamics software and computer modeling programs for the purpose of trackside simulation.  ARC is looking for ways to improve fule efficiencies and working with Advanced Clustering Technologies were able to see significant improvements in run-time simulations while maintaining nearly 100% uptime.

MIT

MIT was seeking a more efficient solution to run its simulations to find a better design to solar panels that would make them more accessible to the home consumer market. Using a laptop took weeks and was terribly inefficient.  That is when it was decided a cluster was needed to reduce the amount of time it took to run the simulations and move this research forward.

Oklahoma State University

Oklahoma State University faced the challenges many universities of its size do when it comes to meeting the needs of its high performance computing (HPC) users: 

  • Expand capacity
  • Increase performance
  • Control the footprint

In 2012, Dr. Dana Brunson was awarded an NSF grant to upgrade the HPC resources of Oklahoma State.  And working with Advanced Clustering Technologies, "Cowboy" provides nine times the capacity as OSU's previous cluster in only two times the physical space.  To continue reading, click here.

 
Purdue University

With plans to create a Virtual Campus, Purdue's Envision Center was looking for a graphics cluster that was powerful, space efficient and could serve as a dual-boot machine. The goal of the project was to create a 3D replica of Purdue's West Lafayette campus. The vision: a general-use tool that could demonstrate the capabilities of various display systems within the Purdue Envision Center. What they found was that their quest to find a system to meet their graphics, power, and spacing needs was nearly impossible to achieve.
